Barre Community History Project -

boys in class photoWhat We Did: Part 4

After the research phase of the project was complete, the students examined and analyzed the materials they had discovered: pictures, maps, artifacts, oral history, timetables, tickets, newspaper articles, and oral history.

Each group wrote about the part of the history of the Depot that they had found most interesting and which was illuminated by the materials they had collected.

These findings were the basis for the Barre Community History Project presentation at the State House on May 18, 2005 before the assembled participants from other kids presenting photoCommunity History Projects, the Governor, local members of the General Assembly, and other notables.

The exhibit was also displayed at the Vermont History Expo 2005 at the Tunbridge Fair Grounds (June 25-26).
